On May 22, the YouTube channel “KBS Kpop” released a video titled “There Are Five Members in ILLIT?! That’s the Perfect Number for Fighting”. The video featured Shuhua as a guest, who sat down for a candid conversation with host and ILLIT member Minju.
During the show, Shuhua answered questions from fans. One fan asked, “Were you satisfied with the contract terms when you renewed?” I-DLE had announced in December of last year that all members had renewed their contracts.

To this, Shuhua confessed, “To be honest, I initially didn’t want to renew my contract. At that time, I was very sensitive and going through a tough time emotionally. That’s why I didn’t want to renew. But after talking with the company and the members, things gradually got better.”
She added, “I don’t think I was in a good place emotionally during the contract renewal. But we talked it through well, and I ended up renewing.”

Minju then expressed her admiration, “I’m so happy to be able to see I-DLE in person.” Shuhua responded “Recently, while doing schedules with the members, I haven’t heard such kind and sweet words like yours. Thank you so much for being so nice and speaking so beautifully”, wrapping up the moment on a heartwarming note.
This revelation highlights the pressures K-pop idols often face and underscores the significance of mental well-being and strong support systems in the industry.
