According to Star News on June 11, rapper Sik-K is scheduled to take the stage at Waterbomb 2025 on July 4 at the outdoor global stage of KINTEX in Goyang, Gyeonggi-do. His participation has sparked controversy due to his recent conviction for drug-related offenses, but organizers defended their decision based on his remorse and cooperation.

Waterbomb organizers stated that Sik-K was included in the lineup based on several key factors:

  • His voluntary confession of marijuana use and full cooperation with the investigation
  • Demonstrated remorse and sincerity during all legal proceedings
  • His agency’s assurance that he will approach upcoming activities with caution and accountability
  • A prior commitment to fans, viewing the performance as a chance to fulfill responsibilities as an artist

However, organizers acknowledged the public sensitivity surrounding drug use, stating, “We take public sentiment seriously. Cultural content requires a higher ethical standard, and we understand this appearance may face public scrutiny.” They also added that Sik-K’s participation could be reconsidered depending on the results of his ongoing appeal and changes in public opinion.

Sik-K faces charges for smoking marijuana on January 11, 2024, and possessing marijuana on January 13, 2024. Notably, he voluntarily confessed to drug use to a police officer in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and later tested positive for methamphetamine during a forensic analysis.

In May 2025, the Seoul Western District Court sentenced him to 10 months in prison with a two-year suspended sentence, probation, and 40 hours of mandatory drug treatment. During the trial, Sik-K expressed deep regret, stating, “I’ve never felt so ashamed. If given the chance, I want to make amends to my family and agency.” The prosecution has since filed an appeal, and Sik-K’s legal status remains under review.
