Female Singer Gains Fame as ‘Ex-Boyfriend Exorcism Song’ Expert Through YouTube Cover
Singer Ailee is among the prominent names in the music industry for her fierce and powerful voice.
She appeared on the red carpet event of “KBS Immortal Songs 2022: King of Kings” at Songdo Convensia Convention Center in Incheon on the 5th along with a stellar lineup, including singers Jung Hong-il, Hwanhee, Monni, Eun-chul Oh, Stephanie, Ailee, Seo Eun-kwang, Kim Ki-tae, Kim Jae-hwan, Forestella, Kim Joon-hyun & Lee Chan-won attending the event.
Above all, Ailee successfully wrapped up her performance of “2022 Ailee National Tour Concert: One More Step” on the 3rd at Changwon and is preparing more diverse and spectacular performances for her upcoming concert locations.
Despite her massive legacy as a singer, Ailee recently drew attention by going into details of her pre-debuts days that may surprise many. Specifically, on her appearance in TV Chosun’s “Huh Young-man’s Food Travel” singer Ailee confessed that she had dual citizenship and that she received many offers from US agencies.
She elaborated, “I wanted to be a singer when I was young, and I had a lot of offers to be a singer in the U.S., but I wanted to do it in Korea.”
The reason for her choice was, “I grew up watching a lot of music programs such as ‘Inkigayo’ and ‘Music Bank’ in the U.S., so I was into Korean culture a lot,” said the singer. “The videos I posted in the early days on YouTube became a hot topic, and I received [offers] from Korean agencies.“
Moreover, Ailee first started out her career as an actress and not a singer.
In the past, Ailee played a member of an idol girl group in the drama “Dream High 2” but has not done any other film projects since then because she was more “greedy for music”. But she also said that she might be acting when she felt “greedy” for it.
When asked if she would like to work as a musical actress, she said, “I can’t do it easily because I’m afraid that acting or performing musical while doing music activities will do damage. I’ve received a lot of casting. But there were many works that were disappointing,” he confessed.
In addition to her singing career, Ailee is a YouTuber with 720,000 subscribers and has temporarily halted her activities on the platform.
Ailee, who is set to make a comeback with a new song, no longer needs to mention her “ex-boyfriend.” This is because Ailee has announced her upcoming wedding, scheduled for May 2025.
