‘Single Man and Woman’ Yoon Hyun-min and Jung Hye-sung’s fiery chemistry “Thanks to the bed scene, I saw everything from abs to toe hair”
On the morning of January 14, the PulsePick Media Launching Day event took place at the GB Seongam Art Hall in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. Attendees included actors Yoon Hyun-min, Jung Hye-sung, Cha Sun-woo (B1A4’s Baro), Jiwoo, Song Byung-geun, Danny Ahn (GOD), Kim Ki-hyun, Lee Jung-seop, director Lee Hong-rae and CEO Ahn Yong-jin.
PulsePick is a platform developed by PulseClip, a digital content production and short-form streaming service company established in June 2024. The term “Pulse” reflects its ability to accurately read trends and user preferences, offering content that provides excitement and anticipation to viewers. Meanwhile, “Pick” represents the process of curating the most suitable content, promising an innovative and differentiated experience. The platform had a soft launch on December 12 last year.
The showcased production, “Single Man and Woman”, tells the story of individuals who meet to trade their exes’ belongings through second-hand transactions. Through this, they share methods of overcoming breakups and learn how to stand on their own.
Jung Hye-sung plays Oh Da-hye, a woman healing from the heartbreak caused by her ex-boyfriend’s infidelity and seeking new love. Recalling the filming process, she said “I had a bed scene with senior Yoon Hyun-min and even saw his toe hair. He was so masculine and cool”, lightheartedly conveying the on-set atmosphere.
Yoon Hyun-min portrays Jin-seok, a man deeply scarred by a forced divorce who believed he could never love again. However, through conversations with Oh Da-hye, whom he meets via a second-hand transaction, he finds healing and falls in love once more. Yoon Hyun-min remarked, “I put a lot of thought into delivering a convincing performance. The short-form format was also a fresh challenge.”
Jung Hye-sung added “This project captures the journey of learning to stand on one’s own after a breakup. I enjoyed the filming process so much that I didn’t want it to end”, hinting at her hopes for a second season.
