On December 5, SM Entertainment released an official statement about aespa’s Winter, which said, “Winter is unable to attend today’s ‘GQ NIGHT’ event due to having flu-like symptoms.”
The entertainment agency also added, “We prioritize the artist’s recovery and will adjust her future schedule flexibly. We ask for fans’ understanding and support.”
However, SM has since fallen under criticism, as news outlet TopStarNews reported that Winter is actually suffering from a leg injury.
The contradiction between SM and TopStarNews’ statements led to concerns among fans, who are currently demanding for SM to reveal the truth.
Meanwhile, aespa previously performed at Japan’s renowned year-end music festival, “FNS Music Festival”, alongside boy groups TVXQ! and NCT DREAM, impressing local fans with their captivating performance.
The girl group is also set to join SM Entertainment artists for the “SMTOWN LIVE 2025” concert, scheduled for January 11–12 at Seoul’s Gocheok Sky Dome.
