So Ji-sub, the ageless star of Korean cinema, is proving once again that age is just a number. In a recent interview released on Marie Claire Korea’s YouTube channel on May 23, the 48-year-old actor opened up about his fitness routines, emotional reset methods, and enduring passion for hip-hop music.

When asked about what keeps him moving through moments of emotional and physical exhaustion, So Ji-sub named two things: travel and exercise.
“After finishing a project, I recharge best through travel. And every day’s emotional residue? I release it through working out,” he shared.
“I do boxing in the morning and weight training in the afternoon. You have to work out!”
Indeed, his sculpted physique and youthful energy have fans marveling at how he continues to maintain his image, many noting that even his wife, Jo Eun-jung, must be impressed by his self-discipline.

So Ji-sub also touched on his musical inclinations, revealing that his current playlist still leans heavily into old-school hip-hop, the genre he once actively pursued. Having released nine hip-hop albums over the years, he confessed,
“It’s the older tracks that make my heart race. They bring life to my soul.”
As for the long-speculated 10th album, So Ji-sub coyly replied,
“That’s a secret,” leaving fans wondering what musical surprise might be on the horizon.
After tying the knot in 2020 with TV personality Jo Eun-jung, 17 years his junior, So Ji-sub has kept a relatively low profile. But that’s about to change—he is set to make a major comeback in the upcoming Netflix drama “Mercy for None,” premiering June 6. Expectations are already high, and fans are eager to see him back in a leading role.
