Son Dam-bi “I gained over 7kg from IVF treatments + My belly is covered in bruises”
On June 19th, a video titled “The Reason I Suddenly Gained 7kg” was uploaded on the YouTube channel “DambiXon”.
In the video, Son Dam-bi shared “My face is very swollen. It’s 8:30 in the morning. I need to get up“, showing her appearance right after waking up.
She continued, “I started IVF. I thought about it a lot and wondered how to talk about it. The first attempt failed.“
She added, “I’m now on my second attempt, and I’m getting injections. Today is the fourth day of the injections. My husband (Lee Kyu-hyuk) prepared all the injections, but since he’s not here today, I’m doing it myself.“
Son Dam-bi admitted, “Of course, it would have been great if it had worked on the first try, but I didn’t get too discouraged when it didn’t. Considering my age, I didn’t have high expectations, but it was still upsetting.“
She continued, “My husband and I believe that if we sincerely hope for it, it will happen someday. I got emotional when the first attempt failed. Now that we’re on the second attempt, I’m learning a lot from this experience.“
She also mentioned, “I wasn’t infertile, but considering both my age and my husband’s, we decided on IVF.“
She emphasized, “Even though I’m not infertile, the first attempt failed, and I’ve been learning a lot through this process. It’s really not an easy journey. Husbands really need to be supportive.”
Son Dam-bi explained, “If the injections are done incorrectly, they can cause bruises. I’m covered in bruises. I gained over 7kg, and it’s actually because of the IVF. The doctor said I was too thin during the first attempt and told me to gain some weight. This is the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life.”
She advised, “During IVF, you gain belly fat and swell due to the hormones. There’s nothing you can do about it. Don’t look in the mirror during this time.”
