Son Reveals Kim Soo Mi’s Heartbreaking Final Moments “Found Her Beside the Bed, Already in Cardiac Arrest”
On March 18, TV CHOSUN’s “With Father and Me” aired a touching episode featuring actress Seo Hyo Rim, her husband Jung Myung Ho and her father visiting the charnel house of the late actress Kim Soo Mi.
The couple expressed their longing as they visited Kim Soo Mi’s resting place. Seo Hyo Rim’s father, overwhelmed with emotions, wiped away tears, regretting the words he never had the chance to say to his late in-law.
Seo Hyo Rim tearfully confessed, “It still feels like she’s just away for filming. In dramas, we often shoot funeral scenes, so this doesn’t feel real. I can’t believe that Mom is inside such a small urn.”
Jung Myung Ho Recalls the Painful Moment of Losing His Mother
Jung Myung Ho, who discovered his mother in her final moments, shared, “Even now, I still can’t believe it.”
He recalled, “I got a call from my father early in the morning. He said, ‘Something seems wrong with Mom, come quickly.’ When I arrived, she was collapsed beside the bed. As I lifted her onto the bed, I immediately felt how cold her body was. I laid her down and noticed she wasn’t breathing, so I called 119 right away. When the paramedics arrived, they said she had likely been in cardiac arrest for several hours already. My mind went completely blank when I heard that.”
He continued, “It was so hard to believe. Even at the funeral, it didn’t feel real. Even now, I need more time to fully accept it. Sometimes, it feels like she’s still here… other times, it feels like she’s really gone.”
Kim Soo Mi’s Unseen Diary and Her Final Words
In next week’s episode, Kim Soo Mi’s belongings and previously untold stories will be revealed for the first time. While sorting through her empty house, Seo Hyo Rim and Jung Myung Ho found old photographs and a personal diary.
The diary contained heartfelt messages Kim Soo Mi had written about her son. Upon reading it, Jung Myung Ho was deeply moved and said, “I realized there were so many things I misunderstood about my mother. She wasn’t just my mother sometimes she felt like my father, and at other times, she was my entire world.”
Additionally, the couple invited veteran actress Kim Young Ok to reminisce about Kim Soo Mi. As Seo Hyo Rim handed her the diary, Kim Young Ok broke into tears, saying, “She really wrote all this?”
With a heavy heart, she whispered a final message to her late friend, “Soo Mi, let’s meet again in the next world and act together once more.”
