Son Ye-jin & Lee Byung-hun Holding Hands and Dancing, Explosive Chemistry in New Film

On January 16, the production team of director Park Chan-wook’s new film “No Other Choice” (working title), published an update suggesting that filming for the movie has finished.

Ever since, a still cut from the movie has been released, show Son Ye-jin and Lee Byung-hun holding hands and dancing in the middle of nature with with bright smiles on their faces.

The two, known to play a married couple in the movie, draws attention with their explosive chemistry that stuns the audience even via just a still cut.

Meanwhile, “No Other Choice” is known to boast and all-star cast with Lee Byung-hun, Son Ye-jin, Park Hee-soon, Lee Sung-min, Yeon Hye-ran, Cha Seung-won, and Yoo Yeon-seok. 

Previously, the production team and cast gathered for a traditional ceremony to ensure a safe shoot, and filming began on August 17th.

“No Other Choice” tells the story of Yoo Man-soo, a man who once felt completely satisfied with his life. However, after unexpectedly being fired, he prepares for his own personal war to protect his wife, two children, and the home he worked hard to obtain, while struggling to find a new job.

It is a remake of the 2005 movie “The Ax”, which is based on a Donald E. Westlake novel of the same name, released in 1997.

I Can’t Help It

Reuniting with Park Chan-wook Lee Byung-hun takes on the role of Man-soo, a father of two with a loving wife. After being laid off from a paper company where he had worked for 25 years, Man-soo fights desperately to find new employment, showcasing Lee Byung-hun’s powerful portrayal of a man pushed to the brink.

Meanwhile, Son Ye-jin, playing Man-soo’s wife, Mi-ri, collaborates with Park Chan-wook and Lee Byung-hun for the first time. She will bring to life Mi-ri, a multifaceted and resilient woman who steps up to protect her family in the face of her husband’s sudden job loss, with her characteristic charm and acting skills.

On the other hand, Lee Byung-hun mentioned “No Other Choice” in an interview. At the time, Lee Byung-hun said, “I don’t feel awkward at all working with Director Park Chan-wook after 20 years. Of course, it’s because we’ve met often in the meantime, but the working process is so exciting.

He also said, “I’m always curious about how it will turn out every time I work on a project, but this is the first time I’ve felt this much anticipation,” expressing his high expectations for the movie.
