Song Ji-hyo Opens Up About Her Struggling Lingerie Brand: “I Only Get 1–2 Orders a Day”
Actress Song Ji-hyo revealed the real story behind her career pivot into lingerie entrepreneurship, and the harsh truth that it’s not going as well as expected.
In a new episode uploaded on April 3 to Kim Jong-kook’s YouTube channel “GYM JONG KOOK,” Song Ji-hyo appeared alongside lawyer Park Min-chul, sharing a candid look inside her new office and business journey.
I Prepared for 8 Years – This Wasn’t a Sudden Move
During the video, Song Ji-hyo shared that she had “prepared for this business for eight years. I kept thinking about it, studied fabrics, went to Dongdaemun, collected swatches, and even tried making pieces myself.”
Although sewing started as a hobby, she added, “Once I thought about selling, I realized I couldn’t do it alone, so I launched a company.” When asked why she chose lingerie specifically, she explained that “Fancy lingerie is nice for special days, but I wanted something that’s comfortable, functional, and supportive for everyday wear.
However, Song Ji-hyo admitted, “The problem is… it’s not selling well.” Kim Jong-kook, surprised, “But you even joked about it on ‘Running Man!’ That must’ve helped with promotion.” Song confirmed with a laugh, “It was real! I really only get one or two orders a day.”

When Kim Jong-kook asked about the lingerie shoot that stirred up attention online, he said, “Why did you suddenly do a lingerie photoshoot?” To this, Song Ji-hyo responded, “To advertise! I wore what I made”.
He then asked whether she took the photos without working out, and she clarified, “I did! I did cardio, dieted, and even 20 sit-ups a night. The photos were slightly retouched.”
Song also recalled her previous training session with Kim Jong-kook, saying, “_After working out with him, I was bedridden for three days! I texted him, ‘I think I’m dying.’ I even had to hold onto the doorknob to go to the bathroom,” _drawing laughter from everyone in the room.
