Song Joong-ki Becomes Global Ambassador for Royal Association amid Career Slump

On March 2nd, Song Joong-ki posted multiple photos on his personal account. Along with the photos, which show the actor with a bright expression, Song Joong-ki also added the caption, “I am very happy to be joining the R&A as a global ambassador. Please look forward to the various aspects we will show you together.”

Accordingly, Song Joong-ki has been announced as a global ambassador for R&A, the Royal and Ancient Golf Club, also known as the British Royal Golf Association. He was also seen showcasing his golf skills alongside R&A members.

R&A is a prestigious organization based in the home of golf, the United Kingdom, responsible for establishing golf rules and hosting major tournaments. R&A has appointed Song Joong-ki as a global ambassador alongside former LPGA Tour golfer Michelle Wie West, football player Gareth Bale, actress Kathryn Newton, and Irish musician Niall Horan.

On February 27, Song Joong-ki attended the HSBC Women’s World Championship Business Forum in Singapore as an ambassador for R&A. In his role as ambassador, he plans to participate in various activities aimed at popularizing and expanding golf.
This is great news for Song Joong-ki, especially as it came amid the actor’s recent movies facing dismal box office results. In fact, the actor even recently cried over the failure of “Bogota: City of the Lost”, before adding that he will continue to work hard on his projects.
