Song Joong-ki “I have a subtle desire for comedy + I want to appear in ‘Handsome Guys’ Season 2”

On the evening of July 5th, at Lotte Cinema World Tower, the second GV of “Handsome Guys” took place with Lee Sung-min, Song Joong-ki, director Nam Dong-hyeop and editor-in-chief Park Hye-eun.
As a special guest, Song Joong-ki participated in the second GV of “Handsome Guys”, following the first GV featuring Jung Woo-sung, both of which sold out. Song Joong-ki has a special connection with Lee Sung-min, having displayed remarkable chemistry through JTBC’s drama “Reborn Rich”, which achieved a peak viewership rating of 26.9%. Their reunion in the GV for “Handsome Guys” drew significant attention from fans.

Regarding Lee Sung-min’s performance in “Handsome Guys”, Song Joong-ki said, “I think comedy is the hardest genre, but watching him, I thought, ‘He’s taking comedy to a divine level.’“
Describing the movie as “a rare, unique genre”, Song Joong-ki added, “I have a subtle desire for comedy. Actors also have a personal desire to be funny. I’m one of those actors who is different from their appearance. Watching it, I thought of many different genres of films.”

Expressing his willingness to explore the comedy genre, Song Joong-ki stated his interest in appearing in “Handsome Guys” season 2. Lee Sung-min suggested “If the movie does well and season 2 comes out, how about having handsome actors like Jung Woo-sung and Song Joong-ki between Jae-pil and Sang-goo?“, to which Song Joong-ki replied “I don’t want to stand next to Woo-sung. He’s untouchable“, making everyone laugh.
Meanwhile, “Handsome Guys”, which was released on June 26th, is about Jae-pil (played by Lee Sung-min) and Sang-goo (played by Lee Hee-joon), who dream of a rural life. On the day they move into their new house, an evil spirit sealed in the basement awakens, leading to a series of frighteningly comedic events.
