On December 19, during a meeting held after the press preview for the film “Bogota: City of the Lost” (directed by Kim Seong-je) at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, Song Joong-ki shared his special connection to Colombia.
When asked about concerns that the movie might depict Bogota solely as a hub of crime, Song Joong-ki responded, “My mother-in-law is Colombian. Many of my wife’s family members live there.”
Song Joong-ki married former British actress Katy Louise Saunders in 2023. That same year, the couple welcomed a son, and recently, they had a daughter, making them parents of two.
He continued, “From what I know, in the past, there was a lot of effort to shake off such negative images. The Colombia I experienced is full of energy, warmth and amazing food—it’s absolutely delicious. I’ve also seen the efforts of people trying to change those outdated perceptions.”
The film “Bogota: City of the Lost”, set to be released on December 31, tells the story of immigrants who start dangerous deals to survive in Bogota, the last land for the hopeless lives.
