Song Joong-ki Shares Heartwarming Parenting Moments: “I Bathed My Child Every Day for 200 Days…”

On the December 12th episode of JTBC’s “Please Take Care of My Refrigerator since 2014,” Song Joong-ki and Lee Hee-joon appeared to talk about their roles in the film “Bogota.”
On this day, Song Joong-ki, who welcomed his second child last November, shared his feelings about becoming a father to a daughter, saying, “It still doesn’t feel real. It’s been two weeks (as of the filming) since my second child was born, and I’m just so happy. It’s really great.” Song Joong-ki continued, “She’s born a year apart from my first child, and my daughter definitely hugs me like this—warmly. Isn’t that right?” he asked Kim Sung-joo and Ahn Jung-hwan. “She really gives me a tight hug. I can’t forget that feeling,” he added.

When Kim Sung-joo asked, “Does the first one talk?” Song Joong-ki replied, “She has started talking. It’s so cute because now she can speak. She says, ‘Good night, Dad. I love you’ in Korean. When she wants me to hug her, she says ‘Colo,’ which means neck in Italian—she’s asking for me to hug her around the neck.”
He also shared an anecdote about language learning, explaining, “Since my wife lives in Italy, the first child started speaking in Italian, but I couldn’t understand, so I thought this was a big problem. After having the baby, I’ve been focusing more on learning languages, and my wife is studying Korean. Sometimes, when the child speaks Korean that I’ve taught, it makes me feel really proud.” He mentioned that he speaks English with his wife, saying, “My wife speaks English, Italian, Spanish, and French. She’s now learning Korean, and I am working on improving my English and Italian.”

Song Joong-ki, who lives in Tuscany, Italy, also shared, “I work in Korea, but I live in Italy with my family.”
Regarding his daily routine with his child, Song Joong-ki revealed, “I bathed my child every day for 200 days. I felt it was something I had to do. I was taught that by my mother. When the baby looks at me while I bathe her, it feels really great. After bathing the baby, I feel proud when we go to bed.”
When asked about his dreams for when his children grow up, Song Joong-ki replied, “I have so many. I want to bathe with them, do the sports I love with them, and I want to take them to the Hanwha Eagles stadium in uniforms.”
Lee Hee-jun shared, “I always dreamed of the moment my child would ride a two-wheeled bicycle on their own. From ages three to five, we always rode a four-wheeled bike together. While I was briefly away for filming, my wife removed the training wheels. She sent me a picture, and I was really disappointed. I had trained them for three years,” he explained. Hearing this, Song Joong-ki responded, “I’ve learned a lot today.”
