On August 29, the 1st hearing of the appeal trial for Oh Yeong-su, an actor who appeared in “Squid Game”, was held.
Previously in November 2022, the actor received an 8-month sentence for inappropriately hugging an actress, holding her hand, and kissing her cheek. He initially denied the charges, but was found guilty in May 2024.
According to Oh Yeong-su, his 8-month prison sentence with 2 years suspension was “too harsh” as he was already “punished by the people”. The actor’s legal representative also mentioned that he was removed from various acting projects, implying that this was enough punishment.
So far, Oh Yeong-su has also been banned from appearing on the KBS channel.
The next court hearing of the actor is scheduled for October 29.
