Sulli’s Brother Slams Kim Soo-hyun’s No Q&A Announcement: “Is This Even a Press Conference?”

On March 31, following Kim Soo-hyun’s announcement of an emergency press conference, Sulli’s older brother, Mr. A, took to Instagram to criticize the actor, specifically calling out the format of the event.
“Calling dozens of reporters for a press conference with no Q&A, what kind of joke is this?” he wrote, clearly unimpressed by the tightly controlled proceedings. He added with biting sarcasm, “Might as well make me a celebrity. I may not know much, but I’d definitely handle a press conference better than you.”

The press event, held in Seoul, was meant to be Kim Soo-hyun’s first public appearance since becoming embroiled in multiple controversies, including allegations related to the late Kim Sae-ron and Sulli’s involvement in the film “Real.”

The day prior, his agency Gold Medalist had issued a statement announcing the conference and apologizing for “recent concerns,” explaining that the actor wished to speak directly to the press. The conference was attended by Kim Soo-hyun and his legal counsel, attorney Kim Jong-bok of LKB & Partners, who delivered a formal statement on his behalf.

However, the decision to exclude a Q&A session has drawn further criticism. Many saw it as a missed opportunity for Kim to clarify mounting questions, and instead viewed the event as a tightly scripted attempt at damage control.
With both Kim Sae-ron’s and Sulli’s families publicly voicing their discontent, the pressure continues to mount on Kim Soo-hyun. What was intended as a clarifying moment through the press conference may have instead deepened public skepticism. As backlash intensifies and questions remain unanswered, it’s uncertain whether Kim’s carefully controlled appearance will help repair his image, or only further erode the trust of fans and the public alike.
