South Korean actress and singer Suzy is currently in discussions to take on the lead role in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the popular web novel “Men of the Harem.”
According to OSEN, Suzy is being considered for the role of Latil, the empress of the fictional Tarim Empire, who brings male concubines into her court to secure her throne.

The original web novel, authored by Alphatart, was serialized on Naver from March 2020 to June 2023, amassing over 21.4 million downloads. Its popularity led to a webtoon adaptation and a strong international fanbase, with many eagerly anticipating a live-action version.
The drama adaptation is being produced by Studio Dragon, known for hits like “Mr. Sunshine” and “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God.” It will be directed by Lee Eung-bok, who has helmed series such as “Sweet Home 2” and “Sweet Home 3,” and written by Hwang Jin-young, acclaimed for the 2023 MBC drama “My Dearest.”

Casting is currently underway, and if Suzy accepts the role, it will mark her return to historical fantasy dramas, following her performance in Netflix’s “Doona!.”
