Taecyeon Reveals Cringe-Inducing Line from “The First Night with the Duke” – “Seohyun Didn’t Help Me at All”
2PM member and actor Ok Taecyeon opened up about a particularly awkward line from KBS 2TV’s new fantasy romance drama “The First Night with the Duke” that left him cringing.
During his June 11 appearance on KBS Cool FM’s “Lee Eun Ji’s Gayo Plaza” alongside co-star SNSD Seohyun, the two shared behind-the-scenes stories from the drama. When asked to name a line that stuck with him, Taecyeon, with help from Seohyun, recalled a memorable exchange from the script.
Seohyun’s character says, “Are you crazy?” and Taecyeon’s character replies, “Of course I am… for Cha Seon-taek.”
After delivering the line live, Taecyeon confessed, “I got goosebumps down my back.” DJ Lee Eun Ji laughed, saying, “That must’ve been hilarious to film, even if it’s nothing like your real personality.”
Seohyun agreed, “It was honestly so funny to watch,” but Taecyeon playfully complained, “She really didn’t help me at all.” When Seohyun defended herself, saying she did, he joked, “You kept saying ‘Oppa, get away from me!’ during takes.” Seohyun clarified, “It was just acting. We always laughed after filming. The atmosphere was great on set.”
“The First Night with the Duke” is based on a web novel of the same name. It tells the story of a college student who wakes up inside a romance novel as a background character and unexpectedly spends the night with the obsessive male lead, launching an unpredictable “off-the-rails” fantasy love story.
The drama premiered June 11 at 9:50 PM KST on KBS 2TV.
