Girls’ Generation member Taeyeon’s solo concert in Japan has been abruptly canceled.
On April 18, Taeyeon opened up through the fan communication platform Bubble about the sudden cancellation of her Japan concert due to equipment delivery issues.
She began, “I feel so bad and worried about SONE (Girls’ Generation’s official fan club name), I don’t even know what to say.”

Taeyeon expressed her deep regret, saying, “I really hate this situation and I’m so sorry to SONEs.” She continued, “A concert that was created through the hard work and anticipation of so many people vanished in an instant. It feels like something was stolen. I don’t know how to put into words this emptiness and sense of futility I’m feeling.”
On April 17, SM Entertainment announced via Taeyeon’s official Japanese website that her solo debut 10th anniversary concert The TENSE, scheduled for April 19 and 20 at Tokyo’s Ariake Arena, has been canceled.
As for the reason, SM stated, “The equipment used for the Asia tour is currently being transported to Japan, but as of now, it has not yet arrived. Preparing sufficiently for the performance under these circumstances has become extremely difficult.”

The agency continued, “Despite repeated discussions with related departments and exploring all possible options, we concluded that it would be impossible to hold the concert. We sincerely apologize for the significant inconvenience caused to those who have been waiting for the performance.”
SM also noted, “We are currently considering the possibility of a replacement concert,” and added, “We will provide updates and further information as soon as decisions are made.”
Taeyeon began her The TENSE Asia tour in Seoul this March, and has successfully held concerts in Taipei, Manila, and Jakarta. While the Japan concert has been canceled, the tour will continue in Singapore, Bangkok, and Hong Kong as planned.
