On November 14, The Boyz member Sunwoo published a long message to fans, addressing the recent issue where he was assaulted by a sasaeng fan and even discovered a location tracker in the car.

Here, the male idol apologizes for worry fans and reassures them that the company is handling the issue.
The full message from Sunwoo is as below:
“Deobis (fans of The Boyz), you must’ve been surprised after finding it out like this and I didn’t want to make you worry, so I’m sorry.
However, it’s a serious matter and has crossed the line, and I don’t want this to happen again to our members or anyone, so the company is dealing with it well and the notice was posted. It is the first time I’ve experienced such an incident, so honestly, during these few days of my schedule, I felt mentally anxious and had a hard time, but thanks to Deobis’ kind and pretty hearts that you sent to me, I’m rather glad that this happened because when I’m promoting, I can see Deobis.
AdvertisementI really can’t say everything about what that person did to me in detail right now, but I really will never think of that person as my fan. Secretly following me, invading, and assaulting, I will never show any mercy, forgive, and understand them under any circumstances.
My anxiety and shock are getting better because Deobis gave me a lot of love, so in the future, in fansigns or places where we can meet, I’d really appreciate it if you don’t talk about this incident, and just talk about love like usual !!! I too, will try to only give love to Deobis!!
Thank you for always loving me and I’ll solve it while relying on Deobis as always, so don’t worry too much (even though you will)!!!!!!!!”

Previously, The Boyz’s agency IST Entertainment posted a lengthy statement on the official fan cafe, saying, “There have been ongoing acts invading our artist’s privacy and threatening their safety, and we would like to address this matter.”
The agency stated, “We have observed various illegal acts, including unpermitted visits to locations connected with the artist’s personal life, intruding on private schedules, spreading malicious rumors, forcefully approaching members in airports, taking photos and videos in transit areas, following them in vehicles, and illegally acquiring and using their private information to contact them. This has led to severe psychological and financial harm to the artists, their families, friends, and acquaintances.”

The statement also detailed an incident on the 9th when Sunwoo encountered a sasaeng while entering his residence after finishing a schedule.
At the time, when Sunwoo, a member of The Boyz, got off the elevator on his way to his dorm and was about to open the front door, a sasaeng (obsessive fan) who had been hiding on the emergency stairs on that floor approached him.
Sunwoo felt threatened by the sasaeng and immediately told an employee about this, and the sasaeng who broke in was caught and handed over to the police.
The agency added, “During the attempt to detain the individual, both Sunwoo and the staff member were physically assaulted multiple times. The intruder was arrested as a perpetrator of trespassing and assault, and police investigations are currently underway.”

Following the incident, Sunwoo and the staff visited a nearby hospital for examination and treatment.
Meanwhile, the sasaeng was arrested on charges of home invasion and assault and is currently under police investigation
The damage caused by sasaengs is not limited to this. It was confirmed that a location tracker was attached to the artist’s car parked in front of the building, and another vehicle’s tire was intentionally damaged by someone else.
The agency added, “In both incidents, we were aware of the facts immediately after they occurred and took action before the schedules could proceed, preventing further damage.”
“We have secured CCTV footage and have completed a police report to prevent future incidents”, they also announced

“These actions are clear illegal acts that cause psychological and material harm to our artists and staff,” the agency stressed, reiterating their commitment to a zero-tolerance policy and strict legal actions against any violations of privacy and safety.
IST concluded by stating, “Due to the increasing severity of these privacy violations, we are collecting evidence and reviewing data with legal representatives, with no leniency or settlement to be granted in any cases.”
