Today (Nov 14th) at noon, Song Jae-rim’s burial will be held at St. Mary’s Hospital Funeral Home in Yeouido, Seoul. His final resting place is Seoul Seunghwawon. Even on the day of the burial, colleagues continue to pay tribute to him in response to the sudden news of his passing.
Girls’ Generation member-actress Sooyoung shared on her personal account, “Please stay happy and bright as you always were. Definitely.” Alongside her message was a photo of Song Jae-rim wearing a toy crown and passionately singing into a microphone, drawing attention.
Actress Nam Bo-ra recalled memories of the deceased, “It’s a painful day hearing about the brother who would always greet me with a bright smile in passing. You always approached me first with a cheerful smile, and that memory makes this news even harder to bear. I pray you feel no pain where you are now.”
Seo Yoon-ah also shared a heartfelt tribute, “We’ve known each other for quite a while. Even if we didn’t meet often, we shared many joyful moments and could discuss anything, shallow or deep, without awkwardness. But the interior design information you sent me 2 weeks ago was your last message. I couldn’t believe it and I didn’t want to believe it.”
She continued, “Leaving so suddenly… I thought you were happy. If I could turn back time, I would hold on to you. But all I can do now is hope for your peaceful journey. Rest, letting go of all burdens, and soar freely.”
Seo Yoon-ah worked with Song Jae-rim on projects like the 2018 film “On Your Wedding Day” and tvN’s drama “Big Data Romance”. She shared a photo of Song Jae-rim enjoying a serene moment, reminiscing about their close friendship.
The news of Song Jae-rim’s passing on Nov 12th shocked the entertainment world. He was found deceased in his home in Seongdong-gu, Seoul at the age of 39.
It was reported that a friend, who had plans to meet Song Jae-rim for lunch, visited his home and discovered him. The police stated, “There is no suspicion of foul play.” At the scene, a two-page suicide note was found.
Song Jae-rim changed his SNS account name to “Beginning a Long Journey” and closed the comments section. He had been active in the musical “La Rose de Versailles” and TVING’s drama “Queen Woo” up until recently, making his passing all the more sorrowful for those who knew him.
Meanwhile, Song Jae-rim debuted in the 2009 film “Actresses” and appeared in numerous films like “Grand Prix”, “The Suspect”, “The Snob”, “Yaksha: Ruthless Operations” and “Decoy”, as well as dramas such as “Cool Guys, Hot Ramen”, “Fantasy Tower”, “Two Weeks”, “Unkind Ladies”, “Our Gap-soon”, “Secret Mother”, “I Wanna Hear Your Song”, “How to Be Thirty” and “Queen Woo”.
