On June 15, a topic titled “The reason why the Shinsagae’s granddaughter might flop” was published on the Korean forum Instiz, drawing huge attention and immediately entering the “HOT” segment of the platform.

The topic in question alluded to “chaebol kid” Annie Moon, whose mother is the chairwoman of Korea’s top-tier corporation Shinsagae and whose great-grandfather is the founder of Samsung Group. It is previously revealed that Annie Moon is set to make her debut with ALLDAY Project – a co-ed group under The Black Label.

Despite ALLDAY Project boasting an outstanding lineup and being created by star producer Teddy, it seems that the author of the topic feels pessimistic about the group’s future popularity. In particular, they cited the Korean singer Loren (real name Lee Seung-joo) as “evidence”.

According to the author, Loren is also a “chaebol kid”, as his father Lee Hae-jin is the founder of Korea’s largest portal site Naver. However, despite having made his debut in 2020 under Teddy’s company, he never made it big. As a result, the author believed Annie Moon and by extension – her group, will suffer the same fate.

Reacting to this topic, many netizens were baffled, believing that the author may be overly negative, seeing that Annie Moon hasn’t even made her debut. They left scathing remarks such as, “She hasn’t even debuted, so why are you writing things like this”, “Didn’t Loren set up his own company to debut in”, and “It seems that Annie is already successful before debut judging by the number of haters”.
