“Trusted Kim Soo Hyun, But Left Scarred After Nude and Bed Scenes in ‘Real'” Han Ji Eun’s Confession Draws Attention

In a November 2018 interview with Star News, Han Ji Eun revealed the psychological aftermath she experienced after filming “Real“. She joined the project after beating a competition ratio of 4,300 to 1, having applied after seeing the actress audition notice posted directly by Kim Soo Hyun on SNS. The notice explicitly stated, “Those who cannot perform nude scenes (high level) cannot apply for the lead female role.”
Han Ji Eun confessed that she had a lot of concerns before applying for the audition. The only information publicly known was that “Kim Soo Hyun is the lead”, and in the end, she decided to join the project solely based on trust in his name.

In the movie, Han Ji Eun filmed a bed scene and a nude scene with Kim Soo Hyun following a drug party sequence. The media outlet reported, “It was not an atmosphere where she could openly discuss or share concerns on set. She was distressed and tried not to regret it, but suffered significant psychological aftereffects for some time.”
Later, she joined the cast of “Rampant“, which provided a different experience. Han Ji Eun revealed that director Kim Sung Hoon told her, “I watched ‘Real’. It was upsetting to see you being consumed that way.” Reflecting on that time, Han Ji Eun said, “It was my first time playing a major role where I felt cared for, but I felt awkward and self-conscious. I entered filming still wounded from ‘Real’. It was difficult.” Thankfully, she said she was able to heal and regain confidence through “Rampant“.

She described the on-set atmosphere, “Since it was the first bed scene for both Kim Soo Hyun and me, he was considerate, but I couldn’t lean on him for support.” She added, “On the other hand, Hyun Bin from ‘Rampant’ wasn’t very talkative, but his quiet consideration gave me great strength.”
It is known that most of Han Ji Eun’s scenes in “Real“—except for the nude and bed scenes—were ultimately edited out of the final version of the film.

Meanwhile, Sulli’s brother seeks justice as Real’s controversial marketing resurfaces amid Kim Soo Hyun’s scandal.
