A (29), the head of the adult entertainment establishment, claims that actor Lee Sun-kyun (48) used drugs 5 times, while Lee Sun-kyun’s side rebuts the allegations as “malicious defamation”
According to KBS’s report on Nov 24th, A stated in the police investigation that Lee Sun-kyun used drugs on 5 occasions, including Oct 27th last year. The police identified 4 incidents among them by comparing A’s statements with CCTV footage, text messages, taxi usage records, etc.
A reportedly provided detailed descriptions of specific instances of Lee Sun-kyun using drugs during the police investigation.
Lee Sun-kyun’s side countered A’s statements, calling them “baseless allegations” and “malicious defamation”. They also mentioned the difficulty of addressing every detail of the ongoing investigation, emphasizing the presence of unknown information in A’s statements.
A recorded conversation between A and Lee Sun-kyun was also made public. When Lee Sun-kyun said “I really like you too, do you know that?”, A replied, “I don’t know. Because you don’t show me.”
There are also suspicions that Lee Sun-kyun may have fallen victim to A’s self-fabricated scenario.
On Nov 23rd, “True Story Expedition” dealt with A, a key figure in the Lee Sun-kyun case. According to a person from the adult entertainment establishment where A worked, A often persuaded acquaintances to use drugs and boasted about her relationship with Lee Sun-kyun.
In August, A was caught using various drugs, including marijuana, with a close junior and was reported to the police by B, the junior’s lover, on Sep 12th.
Feeling cornered, A sent a message to Lee Sun-kyun on the 14th of the same month, claiming that an anonymous person had hacked her smartwatch and she was being threatened. The blackmailer demanded 100 million won, and A received 350 million won from Lee Sun-kyun.
An associate of Lee Sun-kyun, who directly delivered the money to A, stated, “We believe that the money was for A’s personal use.” They claimed that the person who ultimately received the money was A, not the blackmailer.
In the messages exchanged with the blackmailer, A consistently displayed a relaxed attitude, raising suspicions about the possibility of a self-fabricated scenario.
Meanwhile, Lee Sun-kyun received negative results for urine and hair tests and an “unidentifiable” result for his leg hair test. On Nov 24th, he received a negative result even in the armpit hair test.
In the legal community, there is an opinion that even with negative results from a government-accredited institution, it is difficult to conclusively assert the absence of drug use. This is because it is challenging to rule out the possibility of drug substances not being detected due to the passage of time or infrequent drug use. Attention is now focused on whether the police will find decisive evidence related to Lee Sun-kyun’s alleged drug use.
