TWICE’s Mina Confesses She Broke Down in Tears While Preparing for MISAMO Activities

On March 26, the latest episode of “BapsaHyo” – a YouTube show on Hyoyeon’s channel “Hyoyeon’s Level Up” featured the MISAMO trio: Mina, Sana, and Momo. The three members talked candidly about the differences between group and unit promotions, as well as behind-the-scenes challenges during MISAMO’s launch.

Sana reflected on the pros and cons of promoting as a full group versus a subunit, saying, “When performing as a whole group as you know, the waiting time is really long. That’s really tough, but on the other hand, you can take your time eating. When performing as a unit, there’s no time to rest. Sometimes you have to go on stage without even having time to eat.”

Hyoyeon empathized with the comment, recalling how long wait times tested her patience during group schedules. Sana chimed in again, “You leave home at 6 in the morning and when you get home, it’s 2 a.m. outside.” Momo added with a laugh, “And yet it feels like we barely did anything.” When Hyoyeon suggested that unit promotions must mean earlier finishing times, Mina joked, “Then you might actually go home earlier now. But they fill up the time with more work.”
Then Mina shared a personal and vulnerable story about how intense MISAMO preparations became. “While preparing for MISAMO activities during the preparation for our first album, there was a showcase, and we were preparing in the middle of our world tour so there wasn’t much time, and we had to memorize choreo very quickly I thought I memorized it all, but suddenly they changed the choreography, and I just couldn’t get the new choreography right; it was kind of ridiculous how I can’t even do the tiniest little things, and I cried so hard because of it.”

Momo, recalling the incident, noted that Mina usually learns routines quickly, so the difficulty must’ve really shaken her. Mina added, “We even do it with just one day’s preparation. So when you can’t do it, it’s really frustrating.”
Understanding the pressure Mina faced, Hyoyeon asked if she had made any mistakes on stage. Mina replied, “I didn’t show it,” highlighting her professionalism. “But the two beside me were startled.” Sana shared, “She’s someone who usually doesn’t make mistakes. When she suddenly made a mistake, it felt like the world was collapsing. If she makes a mistake, what am I supposed to do?” Momo added humorously, “Mina was correct but the two of us did something else so it seemed like Mina made a mistake too.”
The MISAMO episode of “BapsaHyo” revealed a rare and touching glimpse into the behind-the-scenes stress and perfectionism that come with idol life. Through tears, laughter, and support, Mina, Sana, and Momo continue to show their bond and resilience as performers.
