YouTuber Tzuyang (real name Park Jung-won), who filed criminal charges against Garo Sero Institute CEO Kim Se-eui for blackmail and coercion, walked out of her scheduled police investigation after just 40 minutes, stating that she could not feel protected as a victim.

On the morning of April 15, Tzuyang arrived at the Gangnam Police Station at approximately 8:52 a.m. to appear as the plaintiff in the case. However, by 9:35 a.m., she exited the building, declining to proceed with the investigation.

Previously, Kim Se-eui had claimed in July 2023 that Tzuyang’s allegations of being assaulted over four years by an ex-boyfriend and forced to work at an adult entertainment venue were fabricated. He was subsequently sued for defamation. In February 2024, Gangnam Police closed the case without referral to prosecution, citing her withdrawal of the complaint and insufficient evidence for the remaining charges, including violations of the Stalking Punishment Act and cybercrime laws.

Tzuyang filed an appeal, and on March 14, the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office ordered the police to reinvestigate the case.

Before entering the station, Tzuyang met with reporters and expressed frustration over the prior decision not to prosecute. “It’s absolutely unbelievable,” she said. “Being constantly harassed by cyber ‘leccas’ was already painful, but when they started targeting people around me, I couldn’t stand it anymore. I used to feel too afraid to fight back, but I’m here today so no one else has to go through what I did.”

Despite her initial resolve, Tzuyang left the station shortly after arriving, stating, “I just hope the investigation will be fair and that no more victims will have to suffer.”

Her legal team explained that she walked out due to the police’s attitude during the questioning. “There was a complete lack of basic consideration, and based on today’s interactions, it’s clear they do not regard her as a victim,” said her attorney. “We have serious doubts about whether this investigation should even be handled by this team. We’ll reassess and return if necessary.”

The lawyer also criticized the police for refusing to provide any details about the scope of the supplementary investigation. “We were informed by the prosecution that five charges were sent back for further investigation, but the police wouldn’t even share the usual procedural information. It’s difficult to believe this is a fair investigation.”

Tzuyang’s legal team emphasized that it had been extremely difficult to receive even temporary protective measures recognizing her as a victim of stalking. “In all the stalking cases I’ve worked on, I’ve never seen it this hard to get protective orders,” the attorney said. “We’ve voiced our concerns verbally, but it seems the investigative body lacks the will to act.”

Regarding the earlier withdrawal of her complaint which led to the dismissal of certain charges Tzuyang’s attorney clarified that the withdrawal was procedural and done after consulting with the investigating officer to transfer jurisdiction. “It was not a genuine withdrawal out of forgiveness or disinterest in prosecution. We clearly stated that intent before submitting the withdrawal.”

In July 2024, Tzuyang revealed that she had suffered four years of abuse and exploitation at the hands of her ex-boyfriend, who also acted as her manager. After going public with her story, she became a target of continued harassment by so-called “cyber wreckers” content creators who profit from invading others’ privacy. These individuals tried to blackmail both Tzuyang and her agency, sparking public outrage and renewed demands for stricter measures against online abuse.
