V and IU Dining Together, Who Paid the ₩840,000 Bill? Both Sides Say “No Comment”
“Huh? IU and V Sighting?” is currently going viral on Korean forum Instiz, after a fan uploaded a blurry photo allegedly showing BTS V and IU dining together.
The image was captioned simply, “Not sure when this was taken”, leaving the date and context unclear. Despite the lack of detail, the post has sparked an explosion of speculation and heated debate online, with fans divided over whether the individuals in the photo are actually the two superstars or just look-alikes.
The post instantly went viral, with fans speculating that the man might be V and the woman IU. Fans speculated that the woman in the photo might be IU, as the bucket hat and checkered shirt closely resemble items she often wears and is known to be fond of. Additionally, since May 16 is IU’s birthday, many are guessing that the two may have met up to celebrate the occasion.

Previously, V appeared in IU’s music video for her song “Love wins all”, which was released just before his military enlistment in January last year. V stated that IU personally reached out to him and, after hearing the song, he felt it suited his taste so much that he would regret not taking the role.
IU also expressed deep gratitude toward V in the behind-the-scenes footage of the music video. She shared, “V was scheduled to enlist in the military a week later, but he still managed to fit in the shoot despite the impossible schedule. It felt like I used up all my good fortune in this one album.” She also explained that she was looking for someone who embodied both boyish charm and reliability, and V turned out to be the perfect and irreplaceable fit.
The two are known to have remained friendly following their collaboration. In fact, it was revealed that V attended IU’s encore concert last September while on military duty, further fueling public interest in their relationship.
