The released evidence includes KakaoTalk messages from June 24–26, 2016, when Kim Sae-ron was only 17 years old.
In one message, Kim Soo-hyun sends her a photo and says, “You look cute.”
When Kim Sae-ron replies with “♥Peck,” Kim Soo-hyun answers, “Do it for real next time.”
On June 26, Kim Soo-hyun allegedly wrote, “When can I fall asleep in your arms? I feel like I’d sleep so well,” adding, “Maybe in a year? Three years?”
To this, Kim Sae-ron responded, “A year is already too much, and you’re saying three?”
Kim Soo-hyun answered, “A year is too much? Six months?”
Kim Sae-ron replied, “I’ll do it when I want. There’s no such timeline [as waiting like that].”

According to lawyer Bujiseok, “It’s evident from the texts that he was seeking a deeper relationship. We want to ask Kim Soo-hyun directly: At that time, Kim Sae-ron was only 17.”
The family emphasized that the messages were not edited or fabricated. “These are not stitched-together fabrications. The originals exist, and this version was restructured only to protect personal information,” they stated.

The scandal traces back to March 10 – 13, when YouTube channel “Garo Sero Research Institute” disclosed messages and affectionate photos of Kim Soo-hyun and the late Kim Sae-ron. They also shared letters and photos allegedly sent during Kim Soo-hyun’s military service, further fueling claims that the two were in a relationship starting from when she was still a minor. Garo Sero alleged their romantic involvement spanned from 2016 for six years.
Initially, Kim Soo-hyun’s agency denied the allegations outright, labeling them as “false.” However, after the release of further photos, the agency adjusted its stance, stating, “Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron began dating after she became an adult, between the summer of 2019 and the fall of 2020.”
