Choreographer Wootae, currently in the spotlight due to dating rumors with singer-actress Hyeri, is garnering public attention for his impressive resume and warm leadership style.
On July 1, reports revealed that Hyeri and Wootae have been in a relationship for over a year. The two met on the set of the film Victory, where Hyeri played the lead role and Wootae worked as the choreographer. As the film was shot in Geoje, South Gyeongsang Province, the two reportedly became close while practicing choreography together. Although Hyeri’s agency stated they were “checking the facts,” netizens were quick to take interest in Wootae.

Wootae is a member of the Ambitious Crew and is recognized as a multi-talented dancer, choreographer, and trainer. He became a familiar face through Mnet’s survival shows Be Mbitious and Street Man Fighter. His main genre is choreography, but he also excels in breaking, house, hip-hop, and krumping.
During his TV appearances, Wootae was lauded for his gentle and helpful demeanor, earning the nickname “Oh Eun-young of Dance” a reference to the beloved child psychiatrist known for her kind, understanding approach. He once held a position as a professor at Kookmin University’s Department of Practical Dance in the Continuing Education Program, although he has since stepped down due to scheduling conflicts.

Wootae spent five years of his school years in Shanghai, China, and is fluent in Chinese. He was also a football player until a high school injury ended his sports career. He began dancing at the age of 21, reportedly motivated by a desire to outperform a friend who aspired to become an idol.
His choreography credits include songs for some of K-pop’s top stars, such as BoA’s Game, Super Junior’s HEADS UP, Baekhyun’s CANDY, Kai’s VANILLA, and Kangta’s EYES ON YOU, further cementing his status as a top-tier choreographer in the industry.
Whether or not the dating rumors prove true, Wootae’s story is one of resilience, growth, and a genuine passion for dance that continues to inspire fans and peers alike.
