“World of Street Woman Fighter” Sparks Controversy as Royal Family Caught Filming TikTok During Practice
Tensions flared on the June 10 episode of Mnet’s “World of Street Woman Fighter“ when members of the Royal Family crew were caught filming TikToks during a crucial practice session—drawing harsh criticism from fellow dancers.
During the rookie-level mission, Vanessa and Aaliyah of AG SQUAD were assigned as directors. “The concept highlights both of us,” Vanessa explained, while Aliyah added, “We’re emphasizing my short hair and big eyes, and Vanessa’s long hair and nails.”
However, things took a turn when Royal Family members Maiya and Kylie discovered they had been selected as worst dancer candidates. “This is insane,” they reacted. Maiya admitted, “It felt like a betrayal.”
The reason soon surfaced. Aliyah revealed, “We gave them time to rehearse, but instead of following direction, they filmed TikToks.” She added, “It really irritated me. It felt like their heads weren’t in the game.”
This wasn’t Royal Family’s first controversy. Earlier, they had come under fire for allegedly recycling choreography from a past performance, raising questions about their sincerity and effort.
Backstage, the AG SQUAD brought up the issue with leader Kaea, who reacted sharply: “If this were Parris {[Goebel, she would have smashed their phones. Being professional off-stage matters just as much.”
Even during the shoot, Royal Family members were seen taking selfies and joking around. Vanessa pleaded, “Please take this seriously. Show your best on camera.”
In the end, Aaliyah designated Royal Family as the worst dancers, and Vanessa explained, “You were distracted and filmed TikToks instead of focusing.” The team was penalized 50 points as a result.
