Yoona debuted under SM on her own “We can’t put auditions aside because there’s someone like you”

On April 21st, a video titled “Yoona, don’t worry. You’re doing great now” was posted on the channel “Fairy Jae-hyung”.

Jung Jae-hyung, who met Yoona that day, said, “Surprisingly, you weren’t street-casted.”

Yoona revealed the reason she became a trainee at SM, “I went to the audition. I liked participating in talent shows when I was in school. I saw leaflets in the albums and went (to the audition).“

Yoona shared “There were times when the casting team sisters sometimes would say ‘We can’t put auditions aside because there’s someone like you’“, causing laughter.

She then disclosed that she debuted as an actress before Girls’ Generation debuted, saying, “I debuted with Girls’ Generation while filming a drama. I prepared for both singing and acting as a trainee. I went to auditions a lot. At the time, I auditioned for about 200 commercials, movies and dramas in total. I failed many times. I even auditioned for the same commercial more than 5 times. I failed every time, but eventually, I made it.”
