On the upcoming April 26 episode of MBN’s 30th anniversary special Run for Your Life (tentative title), Yulhee breaks her silence on the emotional weight she’s carried since her public divorce from FTISLAND’s Choi Minhwan, most painfully, being branded as a mother who “abandoned” her children.

The reality show, which follows a 16-member crew on an intense physical and emotional journey, brought the group to a hanok guesthouse in Yeongju, North Gyeongsang Province, after a 5km marathon challenge. As the cast members explored their rooms and engaged in bonding time, a deeper conversation unfolded between Yulhee, divorce lawyer Yang So-young, and announcer Son Jung-eun.

Lawyer Yang So-young confides that she’s considering a “graduated marriage” and wonders how to explain it to those around her. Son Jung-eun reveals she didn’t tell even her closest fellow announcers about her own divorce for four years.

When Son Jung-eun commended Yulhee’s resilience, saying, “You’re incredible for not breaking down through it all,” Yulhee responded with a quiet, heartfelt confession. “I’ve gone through a lot, but the most painful part was being labeled as the mom who abandoned her kids,” she admitted, revealing the emotional burden she has silently endured since the end of her marriage.

The segment struck a chord with viewers, highlighting how stigmas around motherhood and divorce still weigh heavily on women in the public eye. Despite her efforts to co-parent and remain present in her children’s lives, Yulhee’s honesty exposed the personal toll of public misunderstanding.
