i-dle’s Yuqi Produces “Fly Freely” for Cube’s New Boy Group, Marking Debut as a Producer

In a bold new move, i-dle‘s Yuqi has taken on the role of producer, lyricist, composer, and featured artist for Cube Entertainment’s new boy group NOWZ, as they prepare to make their debut with the single “Fly to the Youth (Feat. Yuqi)”.

The rookie group—comprised of Hyunbin, Yoon, Yeonwoo, Jinhyuk, and Siyoon—will pre-release the track on June 17 as part of their first mini-album ‘IGNITION’. The collaboration marks Yuqi’s first time producing for another team, spotlighting a fresh, creative chapter in her career.
A behind-the-scenes video released via i-dle‘s official channel on June 15 revealed Yuqi’s thoughtful approach to the project. “I thought a lot about what kind of song would suit NOWZ best,” she shared. “They gave me a strong youth vibe, which I really liked. I wanted to gift this song to them.”
“Fly to the Youth” is a hopeful anthem centered on themes of youth, freedom, and self-liberation. Yuqi explained, “The phrase ‘Fly to the Youth’ means: when we’re together, we can do anything. Be free to do whatever you want, wherever you are.”
The heartfelt track is accompanied by a cover image of the NOWZ members linking arms on a beach, capturing their tight-knit bond and youthful energy.

Yuqi’s transition into production mirrors the creative trajectory of her groupmate Soyeon, who is known for her songwriting prowess and disclosed monthly royalties exceeding 1 billion KRW (~$739,000 USD). In a previous interview, Soyeon even remarked that Yuqi’s earnings in China were higher—making this creative pivot all the more significant.
With “Fly to the Youth”, Yuqi not only expands her artistic horizons but also amplifies the excitement surrounding NOWZ‘s upcoming debut—ushering in a wave of youthful ambition, both musically and emotionally.
