The activities of the group Blackpink, who have each embarked on their individual paths, still attract attention
After renewing their contract with YG Entertainment in December of last year and establishing their own one-person agencies, Jennie and Jisoo signaled a new beginning. The last time they appeared as a group was in November, accompanying President Yoon Seok-youl during his state visit to the United Kingdom, where they received the Order of the British Empire. Since then, the members have been pursuing various individual activities.
Jennie, who was the first to officially announce the establishment of her agency, will officially start her activities with the upcoming tvN variety show ‘Apartment 404,’ scheduled to premiere on the 23rd of next month. ‘Apartment 404’ is a transcendent true-story detective play that traces the reality of extraordinary events in the familiar living space, an apartment, with a total of six residents, including Yoo Jae-suk, Cha Tae-hyun, Oh Na-ra, Yang Se-chan, Jennie, and Lee Jung-ha.
Having garnered attention as a guest on the first episode of KBS2’s ‘The Seasons – Lee Hyori’s Red Carpet’ on the 5th of last month, Jennie is once again venturing into domestic variety shows. With previous experience on SBS’s investigative variety show ‘Michuri 8-1000’ alongside Yoo Jae-suk, and now with regular broadcasts, fans are eagerly anticipating Jennie’s unique activities.
Jisoo is set to return with the movie ‘Omniscient Reader.’ The film, which started filming in December, depicts the journey of Kim Dok-ja (played by Ahn Hyo-seop), who knows the ending in a reality that has collapsed like a novel, as he tries to save the world with the protagonist Yoo Jung-hyuk (played by Lee Min-ho).
After establishing her personal label under the management headquarters of the health functional food company run by her older brother last month, Jisoo’s first activity marks her screen debut and serves as her next project after JTBC’s ‘Snowdrop,’ which aired over two years ago.
Jisoo, actively communicating with fans through social media, recently shared a photo of a coffee truck sent by Rosé to the set of ‘Omniscient Reader,’ expressing her gratitude for the support from her loving “Chaeng-squirrel”.
Lisa is receiving attention for her bold international activities. On December 26th (local time), she attended Le Gala des Pièces Jaunes concert at the Accor Arena in Paris, France, surpassing pop stars such as Maroon 5 and Pharrell Williams to decorate the finale. The event, which started 34 years ago as a fundraising event for a French hospital foundation, gained attention as Lisa, along with the foundation’s president Emmanuel Macron’s wife Brigitte Macron, joined fists on stage.
Before this, Lisa appeared on the 19-rated show ‘Crazy Horse’ held in Paris, showcasing activities beyond idol performances. There are even rumors of her potential appearance in the AMC drama series ‘Walking Dead.’ Given Lisa’s popularity abroad, especially in her home country Thailand, it is expected that she will continue to focus on international activities.
As for Rosé’s future plans, they have not been disclosed yet, but considering her significant popularity as the main vocalist of the group, it is likely that she will continue her music activities.
