Yuna, Hyemi, Yeji: Stars boasting about luxury bags they received from IU

IU, who is well-known for taking good care of those around her, is now in the spotlight for “flexing” luxury bags to her acquaintances

On the January 31st episode of MBC’s entertainment program “Radio Star”, ITZY Yuna appeared and shared an anecdote about IU. Yuna revealed that she received a special gift from IU, saying, “We once participated as guests in IU’s concert. Then there was a shopping bag with a handwritten letter for each member, and each bag had a different brand.”

Yuna continued, “But what was really touching was that each brand seemed to suit each member. When I read IU’s letter, it said that she chose something splendid for me because she thought my image was sparkling and pretty.” Having received a denim bag from Brand B as a gift, Yuna expressed her gratitude, “As soon as I received it, I thought, ‘She knows me too well.’ It was twice as touching.”

Last July, former FIESTAR member Hyemi revealed the gift she received from IU. Hyemi, who was under the same agency as IU, mentioned that they lived together in the same dormitory during their trainee days. She said, “I was really close to IU during my trainee days. When IU received her first payment, she bought me a luxury bag. To be honest, I don’t think her first settlement was a very large amount, but she bought gifts for everyone around her. All her friends received gifts in that price range.”

In March last year, ITZY Yeji also boasted about the luxury bag she received from singer IU. In an interview with fashion magazine W KOREA, she revealed a bag from Brand G, saying, “We were invited to be the guests at IU’s concert recently so we went there. IU herself thanked us for coming. And to ITZY members… she gave us gifts that suit each of us! It’s a bag! It is an item I really love. I cherish it so much that I can’t carry it around often.”

Meanwhile, IU, known for taking good care of those around her, has been carrying out charitable activities for difficult neighbors every year. It is known that her cumulative donation amount since her debut has reached 5 billion won. In January, her agency EDAM Entertainment announced, “IU donated 200 million won for heating expenses to four organizations: the Korea National Council on Social Welfare, the Korea Child Welfare Association, the Korea Unwed Mothers’ Association, and the Korea Association of Welfare Facilities for the Disabled, aiming to help the vulnerable groups have a warmer winter amidst the severe cold.”
