On December 7, 2024, former VCHA member KG made headlines when she announced her departure from the group and filed a lawsuit against JYP Entertainment, alleging mistreatment, abuse, and medical neglect.

The group, formed through the A2K survival program, was seen as a new global venture for JYP. But behind the scenes, KG claims, the environment was far from ideal. In a shocking Instagram Story update on April 30, 2025, KG revealed that she had submitted a 132-page declaration of evidence to support her case offering the public a glimpse into her harrowing experiences.

According to the document, KG and fellow trainees were forced to continue training despite injuries, including a torn shoulder tendon she sustained in September 2023 at the age of 16. She claims the injury occurred after being made to repeat the same move hundreds of times without rest by a dance instructor identified as B.M., believed to be Bomin Lee.

“I wasn’t even allowed to drink water during that session,” KG wrote. Despite the severity of the pain, no medical treatment was provided until two days later. She and two injured teammates were later injected with an unknown substance at a local clinic, documentation of which was included in her submission.

KG also disclosed she had been forced to continue dancing and training while her injuries required rest—evidence of which she backed with hospital photos, receipts, and messages.

In another claim, she stated that she suffered internal bleeding from a hip bone injury in December 2023, again with no proper recovery period allowed.

Perhaps most distressing are her allegations that another member attempted suicide, and one resorted to self-harm, due to the intense pressure and treatment within the company.

JYP Entertainment has denied the allegations, calling them “false and exaggerated”, and promised to follow legal protocols. However, the case is intensifying as more evidence becomes public.

KG’s revelations have reignited concerns about the treatment of young idols, especially minors, in the K-pop industry. Her case may become a turning point in how trainee rights and health are discussed moving forward.
