Hyuna and Junhyung go way back as close friends, ever since their days at CUBE Entertainment
Now, the hottest gossip at the moment in K-pop is about Hyuna and former HIGHLIGHT’s Yong Junhyung. Both of their management companies gave these vague responses when Hyuna and Junhyung casually posted a photo of them holding hands on their Instagram.
Netizens have quickly dug up some proof that Hyuna and Junhyung have been low-key dating for a few months. A restaurant shared a pic of Hyuna and Junhyung’s autographs on November 9, 2023. Their notes said, “We’ll be regulars here, thank you” and “The food is so good.”
The restaurant owner thanked the two directly for their visit. Back then, nobody noticed or left comments on the post. But now, the photo posted by the restaurant has become proof that Hyuna and Junhyung were already together 3 months ago.
Their old dating rumors are also revisited. Even though many fans shipped Hyuna with Trouble Maker’s other half, former BEAST’s Hyunseung, the Hyuna – Junhyung fanbase was no joke either, since he featured in Hyuna’s debut solo “Change.”
In 2016, Junhyung wrote the track “A Bitter Day” for Hyuna. It’s the only ballad in Hyuna’s solo album “Bubble Pop.” He also featured in the song.
In an episode of “Happy Together” aired in 2015, Yoo Jae Suk and the MCs kept teasing Hyuna and Junhyung about their close friendship. The two got flustered when asked if they ever went to the karaoke just the two of them. And when questioned about their texts, Junhyung played it cool, saying, “We chat about making the new album, stuff that’s on our minds, and give each other advice.”
Yoo Jae Suk called his response “textbook,” and Hyuna had to step in with, “We don’t talk about personal relationships.”
Even though they’ve been out of CUBE Entertainment for years, Hyuna and Junhyung are still close. In 2016, they sat next to each other at a fashion show during Hera Seoul Fashion Week. In 2019, Junhyung appeared as a guest on Hyuna’s YouTube show. They talked about their careers in a chill vibe.
