Recently, many netizens are leaving comments that LE SSERAFIM deserves an apology. In particular, following LE SSERAFIM‘s performance at Coachella 2024, the girl group was praised for their stage presence but faced significant criticism for their live vocals. In fact, LE SSERAFIM was under such intense backlash at the time that the girl group had to directly address these harsh comments regarding their stage.

Nevertheless, after observing performances by other K-Pop artists at Coachella 2025, netizens are now calling out the apparent “double standards” in the industry.

In particular, Coachella 2025 welcomed BLACKPINK’s Lisa, who delivered a powerful set on her own, and BLACKPINK’s Jennie, who dominated the stage with her fierce performance, alongside ENHYPEN, who also drew immense praise for their stage. However, netizens pointed out the noticeable use of loud backing tracks during their sets, leaving comments such as, “Lisa, you’re at Coachella, why is this backtrack so loud?”, “Decided to watch a little bit of Jennie’s Coachella stage and girl… She’s not singing most of the song. Her backtrack is so loud”, and “Why does almost every kpop artist who goes to Coachella have the LOUDEST backing track of the whole festival?”.

As a result, some brought up the previous performances of LE SSERAFIM, pointing out that last year, the girl group was condemned for using a backtrack, yet people are lenient towards others K-pop artists doing the same. One netizen commented, “So LE SSERAFIM is the only artist who’s not allowed to use backtrack at Coachella,”, while another stated, “After seeing the K-Pop sets this year, LE SSERAFIM deserves the biggest apology.”

The debate underscores the challenges K-Pop artists face in balancing live performance expectations with the use of backing tracks, and how public perception can vary based on the artist. It seems that LE SSERAFIM received the shorter end of the stick simply because people wanted to hate the girl group.
