Girl group LE SSERAFIM kicked off their first world tour, EASY CRAZY HOT, with an emotionally charged two-day concert in Incheon’s Inspire Arena on April 19 and 20. As they wrapped up their performance, the members didn’t hold back their tears while looking back on a challenging year marked by backlash and perseverance.
Tears, Triumphs, and the Start of a New Chapter
The concert wasn’t just the beginning of a tour, it became a moment of catharsis. During the encore, Kazuha started by saying that the fans, known as FEARNOT, felt like “precious people who endured hardships with us.” She continued, “So much has happened, and I think both FEARNOT and we ourselves have gone through countless sleepless nights. There were nights filled with sadness and regret. And somehow, two years have passed.”
In 2024, LE SSERAFIM made headlines with their debut at the Coachella Festival. However, their live performance came under fire due to shaky vocals and a perceived lack of preparation. Adding to the chaos, their name was unexpectedly mentioned in the HYBE vs. Min Hee-jin legal feud, dragging the group into a media storm.
Strength in Vulnerability — A Message to FEARNOT
Despite these challenges, their bond with fans only grew stronger.
Maknae Hong Eunchae reflected, “The path we walk together won’t always be lined with flowers, but because there are thorny paths, the flower roads feel even more beautiful. I feel like FEARNOT always acknowledges the efforts we’ve made so far, and I’m so grateful for that. We may not be perfect, but we’ll continue striving to give our best.”
Leader Kim Chaewon acknowledged the rocky road: “So much has happened in the past three years. Thanks to FEARNOT, I was able to endure it all. I’m so thankful that you stayed with us through everything. I believe everything that has happened to us had meaning. We’ve become stronger, and we’ll continue doing our best.”
Perhaps the most vulnerable confession came from Huh Yunjin. She recalled a conversation from a year ago: “I remember crying in a hotel room asking, ‘What are we supposed to do now?’ It was pitch black ahead of us. But you keep going… because giving up felt too unfair. There are so many people cheering for us, I couldn’t give up on that.”
Veteran idol Sakura, who returned to Korea in 2021 to make her “last idol attempt,” choked up as she remembered a fan who’d been cheering her on for a decade. “That moment made me realize that it’s not just about success, these small but precious moments are what give me strength,” she said.
Having completed their Incheon leg, LE SSERAFIM is now set to tour Japan, Taipei, Hong Kong, Manila, Bangkok, and Singapore, with a North American leg scheduled for September. Their journey is far from over, but if these concerts are any indication, this tour is about more than music. It’s about resilience, sisterhood, and the power of shared dreams.
